The Rossendale Way

Picture
The Rossendale Way is currently being re-way marked in bright green and yellow signs.  A group of volunteers from the Rural Rossendale Trust are dedicating their time and energy to making this 45 mile circular route, around the boundary of Rossendale, easier to navigate for walkers.  So far around 650 way markers have been 'screwed and glued' around the route.

Re-instating the Rossendale Way commemorative Stone

Picture
In 1985, a stone commemorating the opening of the Rossendale Way, was erected close to 'Top of Leach' - the highest point in Rossendale.  At some point afterwards the stone toppled over and the face of the stone had been concealed for many years.
2015 was the 30th anniversary of the opening of the Rossendale Way and to coincide with this the Rural Rossendale Trust volunteers set about re-instating the stone to its former glory.
